Thank you for your interest in the Center for Public Interest Careers. We are always looking for bright, energetic, and dedicated students who are interested in exploring nonprofit and public interest careers.
The CPIC Fellowship and Internship Program provides opportunities for students in the following cities: Boston, Chicago, New York, San Francisco, and Washington, DC. CPIC staff and Harvard Alumni/ae recruit nonprofit and public interest organzations to provide students with paid, substantive work experiences.
Students who apply to the CPIC Fellowship and Internship Program have the opportunity to apply to multiple (up to four) organizations using the same application. Students are interviewed by CPIC staff and Harvard Alumni/ae, then matched to Host Organizations based on the student's skills and interests. Host Organizations review student applications, conduct interviews, and make selections.
While CPIC Summer Internships are well suited for all class years (including graduating seniors), the CPIC Fellowship Program is designed for graduating seniors and recent graduates who desire a more in-depth experience in the public interest sector. CPIC Interns typically work 10-12 weeks during the summer, while CPIC Fellows typically work 10-12 months full-time. All CPIC Interns earn a minimum stipend of $350 per week and CPIC Fellows earn a minimum of $29,000 per year plus health insurance.
All CPIC Participants are matched with Harvard Alumni/ae Mentors in their host cities. Mentors serve as resources throughout the Fellowship or Internship. Fellows and Interns are also invited to participate in seminars and other professional development opportunities.
The CPIC Fellowship and Internship Program application deadline is January 29, 2009. Please review the CPIC Fellowship and Internship Application (Download in Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF) for further information or contact Amanda Sonis Glynn at asglynn@fas.harvard.edu if you have additional questions.
